Below are links to artist whom I admire, artist who are working on similar projects and to organizations that are important to my work. Click on the Artist's or Organization's name to go to their website.
Arnold Newman- A true genius, what else can I say other than I love his work.
David Hilliard- I discovered Hilliard's work in my first semester of Graduate school and found it paralleled some of the images I was making, constructing images using multiple photographs. I think of him as a kindred spirit in the fragmented way we construct the world in our work.
Nancy Floyd- Floyd published She's Got A Gun, which documents gun culture among women. The book includes historical images and Floyd's images of women with their firearms.
Jordan Baumgarten- Baumgarten MFA Thesis show entitled Average Americans of the Right Type documents outdoors enthusiasts, in particular hunters.
Maria Martinez-Canas- Martinez-Canas taught one of my early classes at Barry University as a visiting professor, and her direction had a large influence on how I evaluate my work. She is a working artist in Miami and I admire her work.
Wang Qingsong- Qingsong is an amazing Chinese artist who seems fearless in scope and scale he will undertake to make art. I was fortunate to meet him in his studio when I visited Beijing in 2008.
Barry University Fine Arts- The Fine Arts Department at Barry has played a huge roll in helping me develop as an artist, and I am grateful to the professors who have worked with me in the MFA program.
Clemson University Fine Arts- Clemson is where I started my career as an artist, and I received a great overall Fine Arts education there. They set the foundation for my to build-on creatively.
Clemson University Air Rifle Team- This is a link to a video highlighting the Clemson team. I shot for this program while I was an undergraduate at Clemson, and the experience made a huge positive impact on my life.
